Development of a Diaconal Profile – A Workbook

exc-5a23fbb7343a9bd737479e42

This workbook aims at helping diaconal organisations to develop their own diaconal profile. The book is premised on the idea that the development of a diaconal profile is a process that takes place in a mutual dialogue. The advancement of dialogical understanding does not only require the participation of employees and clients, but also has to take into account the specifics of the working field and the organisation itself. Only in this way does profile development become part of the overall organisational development and change. The workbook presents the foundations of the diaconal profile development and explains how the different aspects of profiling can be observed, communicated and consolidated within diaconal institutions. The book summarises key findings and practical implications drawn from a research project of the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work, Education and Nursing in Dresden and the Diakonisches Werk.
